Safe Pasteby Safe AI for Nonprofits

Hide personal info before it goes into ChatGPT.

Paste a case note, email or letter. Safe Paste swaps names, phone numbers, ID numbers and dates for placeholders like [NAME_1]. Use the safe version in any AI tool, then paste the answer back here to put the real details back in.

How can I check that?

This page is one file with no server behind it. It also tells your browser to block it from sending anything out (a security setting called a Content Security Policy, set to connect-src 'none'). The easy test: open this page, turn off your wifi, and use it. It works the same, because your text never needs to leave your computer.

1Paste your text

A case note, an email, a referral, a report. Anything with personal details in it.

What to hide

2Check what we found

Highlighted parts will be hidden. Click a highlight to keep it visible. Missed something? Select it with your mouse, then press Hide selection.

Your text will show up here with the personal details highlighted.

Dashed underline means "probably a name". Double check those.

3Copy the safe version

Read it once, then paste it into ChatGPT or any AI tool.

4Put the real details back

Paste the AI's answer here. Every [NAME_1], [PHONE_1] and so on goes back to the real thing.

The key that puts details back only lives in this browser tab. Close or refresh the tab and it's gone, so finish step 4 before you leave.

What it can't do

Safe Paste catches the common patterns: names, phone numbers, emails, SIN, SSN, NHS and National Insurance numbers, health card numbers, dates, addresses and postcodes. It can miss unusual names, nicknames, and details written out in words, like "the tall man who lives above the pharmacy". Always read the safe version before you paste it. Your organization's privacy rules still come first.

Tired of hiding and putting back?

Safe AI for Nonprofits builds a private AI that runs on its own server and reads your own files, so client details never go to an AI company in the first place.
